Garrick Jones - “Leading in the Knowledge Economy”

 The single most impactful shift of the last 100 years has been the rise of the Internet and pervasive connectivity. This had led to profound shifts in how we organise ourselves, our institutions, our educational platforms and our societies. All are under pressure and are finding their traditional purposes eroding. The power structures that were embodied in them are shifting, our identities are being shaped by new forces. New social organisations are facilitated by the Internet. We are witnessing profound changes - for example the shift from bureaucracies to adhocracies, self-organisation amongst communities and new forms of economic organisations.

These all have profound implications for the Leader and Leadership.

Garrick Jones will be talking about these shifts, and the emergence of new forms of organisations and the skill sets that are emerging for Leadership in the Knowledge Economy.

He will focus on new ways of seeing, horizon watching and decision making, new working spaces, new teams and new Leadership Models that are emerging. He will also explain the rise of Design Thinking and the new skill sets such as Open Innovation, and mass media that have emerged in the knowledge economy.
