Ludic SmartLab supports World Leading Think Tank FTF

Ludic's SmartLab continues supporting the Future Trends Forum, one of the top Think Tanks globally in Science and Technology. SmartLab enables the delivery of a digitally facilitated event and provides an immersive experience that result in accelerated decision-making and powerful outputs.

The award-winning digital platform for decision making, digital collaboration and engagement, brings together a structured process, expert facilitation and state of the art tools at the live event, to advance the group's work, accelerate ideas development, synthesis and prioritization, problem solving and decision-making in a highly engaging and powerful way.

Working with the world's foremost thinkers and policy makers, the Think Tank's focus this time, at the 33rd Future Trends Forum, will be The Next Brain.

"Brain Science and neuroscience is where chemistry was in the early 1900s"

Allan Jones, President and CEO of the Allen Institute

Fueled by new technologies and major investments, information about the brain is accumulating at an unprecedented rate. Scientists are mapping the connections within the brain; observing epigenetic expression; evaluating drugs for cognitive enhancement; testing behavioral hypotheses with cognitive neuroscience; creating simulations at scales from a single neuron to an entire brain; experimenting with direct interfaces between neurons and computers; and revisiting mental models of mental illness and neurological degeneration. But it is too soon to be certain what will be learned and what problems will be solved.

The XXXIII FTF will explore:

    • What new instruments, techniques and methods are newly in use to understand the brain and neurological function in humans? Will direct communication between brains and information systems be possible?
    • What information assets will be produced? What research directions will benefit? What new questions will arise?
    • Will neurological disorders—degenerative diseases, mental illness—become more tractable? Will human capabilities be extended by nootropic drugs, surgical implants, etc.?
    • How will work, education, family structure, individual life, and society be different if neurological research programs succeed? What policies, investments, and regulations will be appropriate?

Participants will be using SmartLab to document the novel approaches to learning about the brain, identify the areas in which these techniques will have the greatest impact, develop scenarios for the improvement of health and the extension of human capabilities resulting from future neuroscience and to identify imperatives, actions and opportunities for business leaders, policy makers, investors, and individuals that may result.

Ludic's SmartLabis a digital hub for people and business transformation, used by the world's leading organisations to make decision and align strategically, engage people in the journey and build the capability and skills needed to achieve the business goals, faster, better and cheaper. SmartLab is powered by a suite of Decision Apps, developed to support the digital transformation processes that large groups use to solve problems and accelerate change. The apps leverage the SmartLab collaboration tools and support every stage of a decision-making process.

The Future Trends Forumis the only international, multidisciplinary think tank focused on innovation. Made up of more than 400 experts, the FTF anticipates the future by detecting trends in innovation and analyzing their impact on our society and business models. Ludic has been supporting FTF since it was founded 16 years ago. The Future Trends Forum has been recognised among the top Think Tanks globally in Science and Technology by the Global Think Tank Index Report.

FTF The Next Brain will be held in Madrid, November 12th-14th2019.
