Technology drives digital transformation but companies lack the right tools to make this a reality.

In the rally to digitally transform, organisations lose control and are in digital chaos, preventing them from getting the communications balance with their people right.

Currently many organisations are experiencing digital chaos, according to a recent report from Ludic Group.

In the Reimagining the workplace of the future report, Ludic surveyed more than 5000 UK people to highlight the fundamental changes taking place in our working environment, both physical and emotional, and the role technology is playing in driving a new approach to people engagement and communication, learning and business transformation.

A third (33%) of the respondents in the report said that the collaboration tools they use in their personal lives are better than those used at work and as a result, many people are bypassing their organisation's IT systems. There is no "one size fits all" when it comes to flexible working. To engage hyper-connected people, organisations need to provide a coherent set of tools, apps and channels, which are individually tailored to meet the needs of their diverse workforce.

While ageing workforces still seem to be using traditional ways of communications such as emails, younger people and millennials require more communications from their employers and find themselves disconnected from the business strategy.

The most successful organisations will be the ones to invest in more tailored technology and provide more guidance around the most effective ways of using and combining both publically available and internal technology. Organisations cannot consider themselves closed systems and need to create a competitive ecosystem of digital tools and apps. The quality of the digital landscape (tools and apps) provided will have a direct impact on the competitiveness of the organisation.
